Find a Lipedema Professional
Find the right professional for the question you need answered. Build a care team around diagnosis, symptoms, function, and practical support rather than one provider claiming to do everything.
Match the professional to the task
Diagnosis and evaluation of other causes of symptoms require an appropriately qualified clinician. Compression fitting, rehabilitation, lymphatic care, nutrition, surgery, and mental-health support involve different expertise and responsibilities.
Ask who can assess your main problem, who can provide the proposed care, and who will coordinate follow-up. A provider’s interest in Lipedema does not automatically establish expertise in every part of your situation.
Use a directory as a starting point
The Lipedema Foundation directory includes diagnosing clinicians and therapists who have self-reported relevant practice information. Its listings are not an endorsement or a guarantee of current availability, skill, or insurance participation.
Verify credentials, current licensure where applicable, scope, appointment type, cost, and accessibility directly. The directory page states that its current listings do not include clinicians performing liposuction.
Ask practical questions before booking
Can you assess suspected Lipedema and relevant alternatives? Do you see people with my symptoms or coexisting conditions? What information should I bring? What happens if I need another specialty?
Ask about physical access, examination arrangements, appointment length, assistance, remote options when appropriate, and how instructions will be provided. These details can determine whether the appointment is usable.
Look for a plan, not a sales package
Be cautious about guaranteed cures, universal hormone or diet prescriptions, pressure to buy a package before assessment, or claims that a single scan or blood panel confirms every case.
A useful care relationship should explain uncertainty, options, risks, and follow-up. A second opinion can be appropriate when a major procedure or costly treatment is proposed.
Bring a short care brief
Write your main question, symptoms and functional impact, relevant history, medicines/supplements, previous care, and constraints. Decide the result you want from the visit before building a large folder.
Bring the resulting advice and research questions to your C+CL health coach and nutritionist. We can help turn clinical recommendations into a personal pathway that fits daily life; coaching does not replace diagnosis or specialist treatment.
